Recipes

This isn't a food blog.

It isn't much of anything, but just some of our family's favorites.

(We sometimes don't carry our cookbooks in our back pocket... but here are some of our faves on this blog.)

And it is Friday night...

...and no matter how crazy of a week it was, Sabbath has arrived. In His wisdom, God told us to rest on the Sabbath.

A holy day of togetherness with God and family and friends. I am looking forward to a blissful and sound sleep (after saying a prayer for the night shift nurses at work- they will need it tonight!) then will wake up to a glorious Sabbath.

Maybe it will be as nice as the time at home when we went for a walk on the crooked bridge. And ate wild cherries, and visited an Indian Mission (that Ellen White visited too). Even if it's not half that nice, it will be a real gooood day.

Life Rhythm

I love music, but am not always known to have exemplary timing. :-) But I sing anyway.

Recently, I have felt a little out of rhythm in life. A little lost in the music, disenchanted with the song, just humming along instead of grabbing the mic.

I don't really know where I am going with this, but I am going to follow Family Life Radio's advice and try to start doing some intentional living.

Also, I am reading a book called 1,000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp. She has a blog that is nice too. What I have gleaned thus far, is that even when we are not where we want to be in life, to be more thankful, to take time out of our busy time-oriented lives to actually live and enjoy life. I need that. Am I the only one? I don't think so.

So, I am going to intentionally try to live more abundantly. That means more God, less me. More thankfulness, less complaining. More trusting, less stressing.

I want the rhythm of my life to be in harmony with God.

Klippevern Og Borg

I have always gotten annoyed by the fake music videos that people put up on YouTube. Cheater way to listen to music. Poor quality. Tacky slideshow.... Today I made one. But hear me out!

When my sister came back from her student missionary year in Norway, she had some good Norwegian music packed in her bag. Our family's favorite is a song called "Klippevern Og Borg", by H.K. An unknown song by unkown musician. Words that I don't understand. It is Psalms 31:2. I think.

So pardon my homemade video (random TN nature pictures that Elisa and I have taken on various hikes and camping trips) and enjoy the song.

:)
