My Latest Project

This afternoon I worked on my latest project.

This World Is Not Our Home

...but per request of some friends and family, here are some pictures of my temporary home.

Just Kidding. I don't live in this beach cottage. Perhaps someday! (Isn't it adorable? looks a litte more New-Englandish than Floridian...) My little apartment serves the purpose well though. The real deal pictures are below:

The living room, kitchen, dining room, front entrance and hallway. :)

I really like the couches and rug that came with the apartment. For once in my life, I actually spend a good percentage of my time in the living room!

I guess I just took a picture of my bed and not my bedroom. It is just a room. With a bed in it.
Oh, I have a bathroom too. Some pretty fascinating lighthouse wallpaper, but I'm adjusting to it well.

Quilt credit to the amazing Aunt Edwina. Tiny little quilt squares make up the entire quilt. Pillow credit to the talented Friend Marjorie. Hope chest from Grandma and Grandpa Lynn. With each move I get rid of a lot of stuff. But never these keepsakes. :)

May the Lord be with each person that steps into this home.

Memories

The following pictures were taken pre-GYC, post-Christmas. Just the four older children. We camped at South Padre Island and then visited our grandparents.

Andrew flying.
The inspiration from National Geographic.

Luke likes to fly too. Kind of a tradition.

Family Visit

My mother and all of my sisters came to visit me here in the sunshine state. It was pretty wintry here (only in the mid 60 degrees today...) but that did not deter the twins from wanting to go to the beach all day. Every day.

Long legged creatures they be.

Anna jumped faster than my camera could focus.

Building a mighty fortress*

My newly settled apartment (thanks to the hard-working team pictured above) will be quiet for a day and then my little brother is visiting for the weekend!

*Remember to build your house on the Rock, not sand.

Open

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort
Of feeling safe with a person
Having neither to weigh thoughts or words
But pouring them all out
Chaff and grain together
Certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them
Keep what is worth keeping
And with a breath of kindness
Blow the rest away.

-Dinah Maria (Mulock) Craik

These tulips are some Happy Sabbath flowers for the gracious host letting me stay at her place ten days. :) Shot this pic with my cell phone and wanted to share it too, as well as the above poem.

Beauty

Therefore glorify the Lord in the dawning light,
the name of the LORD God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea.
Isaiah 24:15

I couldn't help but snap a picture mid-jog one morning a few weeks ago. Tonight I came across it on my phone and thought I'd share. This sanctuary is a few minutes from my house. So very thankful- this is a place that I feel extra close to God.

update

There are so many things that I should write about and even think about writing, that I end up not writing at all.

So in haste, I write a few words. Here is a summary of a million blogs in one:

I have a place to live now.
I have a second job now.
I have CHIP training now.

For the past week I have been near Orlando for the NAD Health Summit. It has been excellent. I sometimes feel that I am the youngest person there, but this morning I saw Neil Nedley's son that is 8 years old so that made me feel better. :) Meetings from 9 am until 9 pm pretty much sums up my life the past week. I probably look a few years older now. ;)

It has been inspiring to see so many ministries that are reaching people with the God's health message. I am getting excited about all of the possibilities and plans for this upcoming year in Saint Augustine.
