Happy Christmas!
Happy Christmas and Merry New Year from St. Augustine, FL!
College friend Steven lives an hour down the road, so we had a Christmas party!
We stuffed a tree in my trunk, hauled it up the stairs, then decorated it!
This is my favorite picture.
I love a little Christmas cheer.
(and a LOT of Christmas music!)
Haiti
I can't believe that I didn't post a peep about Haiti on my blog.
Je suis désolé! (oops!)
Right after Thanksgiving, I hopped onto an airplane from Oklahoma and headed back to Florida.
(Only to discover that I was locked out of my house and my car... and that I had an international flight to catch. Yes. I do love adventure!) As you can see, I did make it into my house and then onto Haiti. Boy, am I glad that I did!
Destination: Cap Haiten, Haiti
Team: Florida Hospital Flagler
Goal: To Extend the Healing Mission of Christ
Here I am with Bethany (we were the two nurses on the trip) on a mobile clinic to
Limonade, Haiti, where we drank lemonade.
We spent some time at Haiti Hospital Appeal in Cap Haiten.
I was working in the NICU. It was quite blissful. And a bit sad too.
We went to an orphanage and also a respite home for disabled children.
Fell in love with those kids.

Here is our illustrious team: From left to right:
Fletcher, Dr. Du, John, Carter, Dr. Miller, Dr. Kurian, Margaret, Me, and Bethany
(John and Margaret and their two sons were a HUGE help even though they are not "medical people")
Haiti Hospital Appeal started a rehab center for spinal cord injury patients after the bad earthquake in 2010. Leon Gaysli represented Haiti in London's Paralympics and is a local hero; inspiring hundreds of disabled children and adults.
Such a wonderful, but short time in a land so devastated, yet oh, so beautiful.
